Conversation reinterprets the erosion of artefacts as an opportunity for surface. Where information is so devastatingly lost in reliefs and other pictorial or documentative artefacts, Conversation brings two ceramic offcuts together as a complete surface to mould the image into.
The two subjects stand back to back at the join of the two offcuts, holding tension in both depiction and material. The title of the work exists as a clarification of contextual reciprocation, prompting understandings of emotion and relation.
